Freshman Football: Atoms suffer another road defeat at Hayfield

SPRINGFIELD, Va. — The Atoms battled hard, but Hayfield held the lead for a 14-6 win on Thursday night. The Hawks scored in the first quarter on a blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown. Later in the first half, the Hawks scored after converting a fake punt and on a controversial 4th and goal touchdown pass. The Atoms were stopped on a 4th and goal play on the goal line in the third quarter, but scored later in 4th quarter, but missed the 2 point conversion. The Atoms are now 2-5 this season with one game remaining on the schedule.

ANNANDALE, Va. — The Panthers finished the regular season with a 7-3 win at home over the Springfield Rockets (Springfield 1). With the win the Panthers finished the season at 6-0-1 and secured the 4th seed in their division They will face the #1 seed, Prince William 3, in the opening round of the Suburban Friendship League Tournament next week.

Freshman Football: Atoms drop the season finale, 6-8, to Mount Vernon

ANNANDALE, Va. — The Atoms battled hard, but Mount Vernon force a third quarter safety to break a 6-6 tie in the third quarter.  The Atoms finished the season with a 2-6 record.

HERNDON, Va. — The Panthers scored two first half goals and then let their smothering defense hold the previously unbeatn Prince William 3 team to a late first half goal on a corner kick. The Panthers now advance to the Division Championship Game.

HERNDON, Va. — The Annandale Panthers defeated Herndon 1 in the U13 Division 5 championship game on Sunday. The Panthers end the season with a 8-0-1 record and a 94.4% game point percentage, the best in the U-13. The Panthers were second in the league total game points.
