ARLINGTON, Va. โ€” Today, members of the Omicron Theta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. showed up in service at the Military Women's Memorial in Arlington, Virginia for their Honor Flight Service Project. Our family had the honor of joining them and welcoming veterans from Georgia, New York, and Florida as they arrived for their Honor Flights. ย

SPRINGFIELD, Va. โ€” The family enjoyed an exciting day of lacrosse at The St. James on Monday as the Boston Guard captured the inaugural Womenโ€™s Lacrosse League championship with a 22-17 victory over the New York Charging. In the Premier Lacrosse League championship, the Boston Cannons secured their second consecutive title, defeating the Utah Archers 21-14.

WASHINGTON โ€”ย The Anacostia Community Museum focuses on exploring social issues impacting urban communities, particularly African-American neighborhoods. With a strong emphasis on community engagement, it serves as a platform for local voices, storytelling, and advocacy, fostering discussions on topics such as gentrification, environmental justice, and social equity. The museum highlights the rich cultural heritage and contemporary experiences of communities through exhibitions, research, and public programs.

Established in 1967, the museum is a part of the Smithsonian Institution. It's collections and initiatives aim to inspire civic responsibility and a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of history, culture, and community life.

WASHINGTON โ€” The "In Slavery's Wake" exhibition at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture explores the enduring legacies of slavery and its impact on African American life from the Civil War to the present. Through powerful artifacts, historical narratives, and personal stories, the exhibit examines how formerly enslaved individuals navigated freedom, faced systemic challenges, and shaped the cultural, political, and social landscape of the United States. Visitors are invited to reflect on the complex journey toward equality and justice while gaining a deeper understanding of the resilience and contributions of Black Americans in the wake of emancipation.
