BLACKSBURG, Va. — Hosted by the Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts, the Virginia Tech Honor String Orchestra Festival brought together over 100 talented high school students for a collaborative concert with the Virginia Tech Philharmonic Orchestra. Recommended by their directors, the participants took part in masterclasses led by Virginia Tech’s esteemed string faculty and performed in the culminating concert under the baton of Mathias Elmer, the university’s director of orchestral activities.
