Savannah State University News

Savannah State University, established in 1890, is Georgia’s oldest public historically Black college and university (HBCU) and the first institution of higher learning in Savannah. Nestled on a picturesque 201-acre campus along the salt marshes of coastal Georgia, SSU provides over 30 undergraduate and five graduate degree programs. The university houses Georgia’s only marine sciences program situated in a natural coastal setting, allowing students to conduct research in marsh, ocean, and wetland environments and pioneered the state's first bachelor's degree in homeland security and emergency management. With a commitment to student success, SSU boasts vibrant student life with over 75 clubs and organizations.
