KENNESAW, Ga. — Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park preserves the site of a major U.S. Civil War battle. Spanning over 2,900 acres, the park commemorates the fierce fighting between Union and Confederate forces fought during the Atlanta Campaign in June 1864. In addition to its historical importance, the park offers scenic hiking trails, including a trek to the summit of Kennesaw Mountain.
