OCCOQUAN, Va. — A Town of Occoquan historical marker at one of the oldest African American Baptist congregations in eastern Prince William County, organized in 1883 by Rev. Lewis Henry Bailey, who was born enslaved, sold away from his family to Texas before the Civil War, and walked back to Northern Virginia afterward to find them.
