HERNDON, Va. — The Annandale Panthers defeated Herndon 1 in the U13 Division 5 championship game on Sunday. The Panthers end the season with a 8-0-1 record and a 94.4% game point percentage, the best in the U-13. The Panthers were second in the league total game points. Freshman Football: Atoms drop the season finale, 6-8, to Mount Vernon

ANNANDALE, Va. — The Atoms battled hard, but Mount Vernon force a third quarter safety to break a 6-6 tie in the third quarter.  The Atoms finished the season with a 2-6 record.

Freshman Football: Atoms suffer another road defeat at Hayfield

SPRINGFIELD, Va. — The Atoms battled hard, but Hayfield held the lead for a 14-6 win on Thursday night. The Hawks scored in the first quarter on a blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown. Later in the first half, the Hawks scored after converting a fake punt and on a controversial 4th and goal touchdown pass. The Atoms were stopped on a 4th and goal play on the goal line in the third quarter, but scored later in 4th quarter, but missed the 2 point conversion. The Atoms are now 2-5 this season with one game remaining on the schedule.
