CLIFTON, Va. — The Panthers showed great teamwork in a 3-2 win over Southwestern 3. The Panthers took an early lead, 1-0, with the first goal of the match by Elias F. who was assisted by Justin R. Southwestern 3 gained the lead by scoring two consecutive goals early in the second half, but Yassine H. scored on an assist by Matthias K. to even the score at 2-2. The Panthers took the lead for good after an unassisted goal by Johnson K.

The Panthers as a team showed an aggressive offense with 13 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Sebastian H. had three saves during the match for the Panthers.

The Panthers (2-3-1) will return to match play after the Memorial Day break on June 5 at 12:30 pm for a home matchup against Burke 1 (0-6-0).

In the second half, the Panthers added two additional goals with Jeffrey R and Johnson K. both scoring goals. During the match, the Panthers scored on three of their five shots on goal. Johnson K., Yassine H., and Marvin C. each scored two goals during the match.</p><p>Angel M. opened the first-half scoring with a goal on his first shot of the match at 10:03. Three minutes later (13:01), Yassine H. scored a header goal for his first goal of the match. This gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead in the match. Johnson K. scored his first goal of the match at 26:11 and Aje L. closed the first-half scoring with a goal at 28:38 in the match.</p><p>In the second half, Yassine H. scored his second goal of the match (40:52). Edgar C. scored a goal at 43:38 and was followed by Marvin C. who scored his first goal of the match at 46:15.
