WASHINGTON — The Chamber Orchestra of Annandale High School, under the direction of Annie Ray, delivered a captivating performance during the 2025 Washington Tattoo, an internationally renowned military music and arts festival. This prestigious event, held annually, showcases world-class military bands, drill teams, cultural performers, and youth ensembles, celebrating music, history, and the spirit of international cooperation. The orchestra's participation highlighted their exceptional talent and dedication, as they performed a carefully curated selection of pieces that resonated with the festival's theme, captivating the audience with their artistry and precision. Their involvement in the Washington Tattoo provided a platform to represent their school and community and offered the students a unique opportunity to engage with musicians and performers from around the world.

Malcolm's Law
RICHMOND, Va. — On Friday, March 21, 2025, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin signed 185 pieces of legislation into law, including HB2742, now known as Malcolm’s Law. This measure mandates that hospitals with emergency rooms in Virginia conduct fentanyl screenings during urine drug screenings. I am immensely proud of my wife, Thurraya Kent, who played a pivotal role in advancing this initiative, which Delegate Irene Shin introduced.
My sincere hope is that with enhanced screening capabilities, fewer lives will be lost—lives like that of our son, Malcolm.
